Terms of sale

The agreement that applies when you buy from this store. Written to be read rather than skipped: where a clause protects us, it says so, and where it protects you, it says that too.

1. Who you are contracting with

This store is operated by Vortex Autonomous Systems, registered in Uttar Pradesh, India. “We” and “us” mean that entity; “you” means the person or organisation placing the order.

Legal name
Vortex Autonomous Systems
Place of business
Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh

Full contact details, including the grievance officer required by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020, are on the contact page.

2. When a contract is formed

A listing is an invitation to offer, not an offer. Your order is the offer. The contract forms when we confirm the order, not when you submit it and not when a payment authorises.

That distinction matters in two situations, and both go in your favour: if stock has gone since you added it to the basket, or if a price was listed wrongly, we may decline the order rather than being bound by it. If we decline, you are refunded in full and we tell you why.

Obvious pricing errors

If a price is clearly wrong (a ₹6,000 flight controller listed at ₹60) we are not obliged to sell at that price, and we will not quietly ship and invoice you the difference. We contact you, and you choose whether to proceed at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

3. Prices, tax and payment

All prices are in Indian rupees and include GST. Shipping is quoted separately at checkout, before you pay. There are no other charges.

Accepted methods

  • Cards, UPI, net banking and EMI, processed by our payment gateway.
  • Cash on delivery, on orders up to 15,000, with a handling fee of ₹79. Not available on every pincode.
  • Bank transfer and credit terms, for approved business accounts only. See dealer and institutional purchasing.

We never see or store your card number. It goes directly to the gateway, which is PCI-DSS compliant; we hold only the payment reference it returns.

Your tax invoice is issued at dispatch, as section 31(1)(a) of the CGST Act requires. How GST works here.

4. Delivery and risk

We ship within India only. Delivery estimates are estimates: they are counted in working days from dispatch and they depend on a courier we do not control.

Risk passes to you on delivery. Title passes when we have received payment in full. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, refuse it at the door or tell us within 48 hours, and it is our problem rather than yours.

Lithium cells travel by surface only and cannot be sent to the Andaman & Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep at all. This is a carrier restriction we cannot waive. Battery shipping policy.

5. Cancellation, returns and refunds

You can cancel any order at no cost before it is dispatched. After dispatch, the returns policy applies and forms part of these terms.

Nothing in these terms reduces your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 or the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020. Where those give you a stronger remedy, that one applies.

6. What these components are for

We sell components for experimental, hobby, research and commercial unmanned aircraft and robotics. They are sold as components. They are not certified aircraft parts and must not be used in manned aviation, in life-support systems, or in any application where a failure would be life-threatening.

Your responsibilities

  • Flying legally. Operating a drone in India is governed by the Drone Rules 2021: registration on the Digital Sky portal, a UIN, airspace zones and remote pilot licensing where applicable. Complying is yours, not ours, and buying a part here is not permission to fly it.
  • Radio transmission. Transmitting power and frequency limits are set by WPC. Some video transmitters sold here can exceed what is permitted for unlicensed use; setting them legally is your obligation.
  • Handling lithium safely. Charge on a fire-safe surface, never unattended, never beyond rated voltage. Cells are the single most dangerous item in this catalogue.
  • Building it correctly. The compatibility engine checks what it can from published specifications. It is a check, not a certification, and it does not make us responsible for an assembled aircraft.

7. Liability

Our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss: lost flight time, lost footage, damage to an airframe caused by a component failure, or loss of profit.

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

A crash is not a product defect by default

Multirotors fall out of the sky for many reasons, most of them configuration or piloting. If a component genuinely failed we will stand behind it, and the warranty section sets out how we tell the difference. What we will not do is underwrite the airframe.

8. Accounts

Signing in uses a one-time code sent to your phone. You are responsible for keeping access to that number; anyone who can receive your codes can place orders as you.

We may suspend an account for fraudulent orders, for repeated abuse of the returns process, or where an account is being used to resell in breach of a dealer agreement. We will tell you why.

9. Intellectual property

Product photography, specification data, the compatibility rules and the Build Studio are ours. You are welcome to reference our specifications when documenting your own build. You may not scrape the catalogue, republish the specification data as a dataset, or use our imagery to sell competing products.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh have jurisdiction.

As a consumer you keep the right to bring a complaint before the consumer commission with jurisdiction where you live, whatever this clause says. Please raise it with our grievance officer first: most things are resolved in a reply.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, not the current one. The date at the top of this page is the last change.

Read alongside the privacy policy, returns and warranty, and shipping, all of which form part of this agreement.
